Towards 1947, were accidentally discovered in the Qumran area which is located in the West Bank (then just today in the disputed area between Israel and Palestine) about 900 rolls or scrolls 11 caves.
L 'importance of this discovery comes from the fact that about 40% of the scrolls refer to books present or canonical biblical texts (eg Isaiah, Daniel to name a few) and the datazione attribuita a circa 2000 anni fa.
Non mancano nella vicenda i misteri e le polemiche, infatti ci furono forti ritardi (oltre 30 anni) nella pubblicazione dei testi e dei risultati.
Il libro non è altro che una piccola guida in cui vengono illustrate le possibili origini, il contenuto dei rotoli e le affinità tra i rotoli scoperti e gli Esseni.
Gli Esseni erano una setta guidaica che in un preciso contesto storico (tra il 100 ac e il 200 dc) scelsero di isolarsi nel deserto per condurre una vita in comune cercando di purificarsi in attesa di un messia che gli avesse liberati da questo mondo corrotto, pare avessero grandi capacità curative con le erbe.

I enjoyed this book as you leave room for all opinions, and responsibility to the reader to deepen on subsequent tests.
but I would have liked a more comprehensive book, with a greater variety of views and analysis of citation of sources.
I was very impressed with the theory of Essene Jesus and Yuzu Asaph, shocking theory for the Christian world if true, and that will be my other readings.
